Successful Result | Supply of Drugs | Kangs Criminal Solicitors

Share

Kangs Solicitors recently defended a client who, with his partner, faced several very serious drugs charges.

Amandeep Murria of Kangs Solicitors outlines the steps taken on his behalf and which secured a most satisfactory result for him and his partner.

The Facts | Kangs Criminal Team

The Prosecution based its case upon hundreds of text messages recovered from mobile phones which suggested our client was involved in  dealing drugs and he was described as a retailer of a variety of drugs.

Our client acknowledged limited involvement in the criminal activity, but not to the extent alleged by the Prosecution, and wished to plead guilty in respect of his limited involvement.

Preparation for Trial | Kangs Criminal Defence Advisors

Our client was anxious to avoid the worry and pressure that attaches to a fully defended criminal trial before the Crown Court.

Having discussed in detail with our client all of the circumstances leading to the prosecution, it was decided that his best interests would be served by preparing a detailed Basis of Plea setting out the extent of his limited involvement.

Following detailed and successful negotiations with the Prosecution, a written Basis of Plea was prepared and greed.

The Trial | Kangs Criminal Trial Team

On the first day of Trial, detailed discussions with the Prosecution resulted in an agreement not pursue the allegations against our client’s partner.

As the result of the limited basis of plea agreed with the Prosecution, our client received a significantly reduced sentence which reflected the true extent of his involvement.

Additionally, the Prosecution confirmed that Confiscation Proceedings would not be pursued against our client, thereby removing the risk of any assets that he possessed being forfeited, as well as the worry he would have encountered during the defence of such proceedings.

Naturally, our client was extremely pleased with the outcome.
