About Us | Kangs POCA, Asset Forfeiture & Account Freezing Order Team

We are recognised as one of the leading, specialist POCA and Asset Forfeiture firms in the country, undertaking both civil and criminal litigation pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (‘POCA 2002’).

Our national reputation has been built over more than two decades of conducting restraint and confiscation work which pre-dates POCA 2002. This level of experience distinguishes us from many other law firms and renders us a market leader.

We are often instructed by individual and corporate clients in relation to Restraint Orders and Freezing Orders. The freezing of worldwide assets and bank accounts is a daunting experience. Swift and decisive action is required to limit the impact of the restraint proceedings on personal and business finances and our team is able to react to such events at short notice.

We are well versed in cross-border civil and criminal litigation and many of our cases involve a significant international dimension with recent cases involving territories such as Thailand, Malta, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Dubai, Cayman Islands, China and Singapore.

Our Values & Our Work

We appreciate that our clients’ needs are best served by taking a proactive approach to POCA and Asset Forfeiture investigations.

Where appropriate we will:

  • negotiate tenaciously for an early settlement with the investigating authority
  • formally challenge the investigating authorities by seeking to discharge any restraint/freezing orders
  • seek variations of the original restraint/freezing orders
  • contest fully any final hearing arising from the restraint proceedings.

Who Can I Contact For Help?

We appreciate the significant upheaval that POCA, Restraint and Freezing Order investigations can have on a business, an individual client and family members.

This is a complex area of law and we have many years’ experience successfully guiding both corporate and individual clients through the restraint, freezing order, cash seizure, criminal investigation and prosecution process.

Our Team of solicitors, nationally recognised in its field, is here to assist and can be contacted via telephone 0333 370 4333 and by email info@kangssolicitors.co.uk.

We provide initial no obligation discussion at our three offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Alternatively, discussions can be held virtually through live conferencing or telephone.
