Victory at Wood Green Crown Court

Share

Kangs Solicitors represented a client charged with Conspiracy to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm in relation to events that took place in September 2012. Our client was one of six defendants charged in the case which was brought by the Homicide Team of the Metropolitan Police. The Prosecution alleged that our client was the landlord of the injured party and had been involved in a landlord-tenant dispute in respect of the tenant’s eviction. The Prosecution further alleged that our client recruited others and planned the use of unlawful violence in the hope of removing the tenant from the property. The Prosecution relied on a vast amount of material in an effort to show contact and communication between the six defendants at crucial moments.

Following a four-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court, our client was found not guilty in relation to both counts on the indictment. The five co-defendants were all convicted and await sentence.

The case was conducted by Amandeep Murria (and assisted by Lucy Todd) both of Kangs Solicitors. After the jury verdicts Amandeep commented:

The client was an absolute pleasure to work with and although he faced  very serious and stressful allegations he maintained his composure at all times. The verdict of the jury was a clear vindication of the client who had maintained his innocence from the very outset of the case. It was a very rewarding result for his legal team to see the many months of hard work and preparation finally rewarded in this way.
