Fraud Case Victory at Inner London Crown Court

Share

Our client was the ex-employee of a luxury hotel in Central London. He was charged along with 5 others of Conspiracy to Steal from the hotel.

After a trial lasting 4 weeks at Inner London Crown Court, our client was unanimously acquitted by the jury.

The case involved the interrogation of hours of CCTV footage and the electronic database used at the hotel to take payment for hotel bills.

The lead Prosecution Witness, a manager of the hotel who had started the initial internal investigation at the hotel gave evidence at the trial for 9 days.

The defendant gave very clear evidence in his own defence and calling defence witness evidence on his behalf also significantly bolstered his case.

The Prosecution’s case was successfully undermined after it was established that one of the transactions identified by them was completely contrary to the plan of the alleged conspiracy.

The jury retired for 2 ½ hours during which time the jury asked to see the CCTV of all defendants, except our client. Plainly the jury had already acquitted our client at that stage.

The defendant was delighted with the result and the hard work undertaken by the defence team to achieve such a successful outcome.

The matter was conducted by Frances Murray at Kangs Solicitors
