Director Disqualification | Employment Of Illegal Immigrants | Kangs Immigration & Director Disqualification Solicitors
The obligations placed upon employers to ensure that they do not hire illegal workers and the consequences of failure to comply with the prevailing legislation are generally widely known.
Cagin Husnu of Kangs Solicitors comments upon a situation where a company was unable to pay a fine imposed upon it for employing illegal workers.
Case Example | Kangs Director Disqualification Solicitors
The Insolvency Office recently reported a situation where the sole director of a company, which operated a restaurant, failed to conduct the requisite checks to ensure that it complied with the law and which resulted in the employment of illegal immigrants.
As the result of such failure, the company was fined the sum of fifteen thousand pounds, which it was unable to pay.
Following the liquidation into which the company was forced, the Insolvency Service took action and the director of the company accepted disqualification from holding office as a director of any company for a period of three and a half years.
